It’ll Have To Wait

Saw a pretty young woman at the grocery store
she’s the one who moved in to the house next door
‘til I found out she was alone I was always running late
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait

Saw her in the check-out line in a sweater and jeans
showing up the girls on the covers of the magazines
I’m here to put money in my pocket and food on my plate
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait
she looks so good it’ll have to wait

Seems like the harder I work the worse it gets
I spend my money just a chippin’ away at my debts
boss man say buddy don’t be late
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait
she looks so good it’ll have to wait

And if all of my friends moved out of this neighborhood
it wouldn’t matter ‘cause she looks so good she looks so good
If Medusa called up or they were televising Tennessee State
it wouldn’t matter ‘cause she looks so good it would have to wait

Clean up the air around the chemical plant
or shut the stacks down if you say you can’t
I meant to march at the factory gate
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait
she looks so good it’ll have to wait

Well I tried to go fishing dropped my poles in the hall
just a watched her in her yard shoot a basketball
Was gonna gas up the boat gonna spit on my bait
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait
she looks so good it’ll have to wait

I saw a pretty young woman at the grocery store
she’s the one who moved in to the house next door
‘til I found out she was alone I was always running late
but she looks so good it’ll have to wait
she looks so good it’ll have to wait

she looks so good
she looks so good
she looks so good it’ll have to wait
