That’s What I’m Waiting For (6:10 To Memphis)

I called you from the train stop and said I’m sorry
can I take back those hurtful words and won’t you come get me
The 6:10 to Memphis is gonna be late for sure
that’s what I’m waiting for

You said you need some time I’ll stay with an old friend
or I could take a later train there’s always on leaving
It’s the 6:10 to Memphis but if you see my baby hold that door
that’s what I’m waiting for

Everybody’s looking down that track they want to see a train coming
want to hear that whistle blow see the smoke in the corn
I’m looking at a parking lot hoping you will drive up
Oh the whistle sounds nice
but I’d rather hear you hitting that car horn

So it’s the 6:10 to Memphis
maybe we’ll hop that train
and hear that engine roar
that’s what I’m waiting
that’s what I’m waiting
that’s what I’m waiting for
