Singer Songwriter David Harris is currently on tour! With the release of his eleventh recording, "Again - Volumes 1 & 2," a collection of fine solo and band recordings from 1992 - 2006, David Harris continues more than two decades of concert touring at colleges and clubs across America.

David Harris writes wonderful songs! Artful, thoughtful, sometimes amusing, and always heartfelt, David creates vivid portraits of people's lives, adventures and dreams in song. Whether he is writing about romance or politics, the society or the environment, spirituality or modern wants, he captures images and ideas which evoke in us a sense of "listening" to a great book. Musically, he has forged a compelling style of guitar playing in which he utilizes altered and open tunings to create rich and mystic harmonies. A new generation of technology allows David to change guitar tunings during songs! - creating a rare and impressively original style of guitar playing. His voice is warm and intimate, yet powerful.

In addition to his original style of singing and songwriting, David also writes and performs original songs in a variety of contemporary styles including country, jazz, pop, rock, acoustic, folk and singer songwriter. Performing Songwriter Magazine chose David Harris' sixth recording, The War For Salt as one of their top 12 independent albums of the year in 1998.

Lyrically, David deals with common themes in uncommon ways. In "This House Will Stand," David pays tribute to the strength, spirit and sense of humor that many of the folks who went through Hurricanes Katrina and Rita showed. He writes, "Hurry up baby, storm's almost here, I've got the water jugs batteries, dang I forgot the beer, I'll board up the windows, you tie down the kids, I've got the radio the flashlight, oh but where'd I put the checklist. When the lights go out and the storm hits land, when baby cries, couch flies, and I've got my head in my hand, the love beneath this tremblin' roof is living proof, that the walls can turn to splinters and the slab can turn to sand, but this house, this house, this house, this house, will stand..."

In the love story "What Should We Do Today," he writes: "It's Sunday morning in a sleepy world, we rub our eyes and take a look, and lying in bed I'm reading you poetry, from an overdue library book. What should we do today?..."

From the song "Manufacture"- "We came on strong in recent years, with chemicals and satellites, condos in the Congo and fast food. The marketplace is burgeoning, so never mind the hazy day, or the bulldozers in Babylon, or the tears of St. Jude..."

And "Hotel Bar"- "A hitch in the Navy, then you married your high school sweetheart, couldn't make a living singing country songs. So you put away your own dreams, and all those temptations, and you get to the office, where a good man belongs..."

"Gray Is The New Blonde"- "Went to sleep a punk, woke up a dapper gent, never mind the Sex Pistols I wonder where my Sinatra CD went ..."

"Talking At The Truckstop" - "... Amy wears a skull and crossbones charm, she's got "Little Savage" tattooed on her arm, she spilled some sugar on the table drew a question mark and smiled at me, and man that was it, I was thinking, baby this has got to be..."

David Harris tours throughout the United States. Tour dates are currently closing. David has performed at more than 2000 colleges and clubs throughout America.
